At Emerald Heights, residents share their energy, ideas and creativity as they make this community their home. As a result, the campus has been transformed to reflect their interests.

Perhaps the most ambitious effort spear-headed by residents was the design and construction of the nature trail that winds around the perimeter of the campus. Active residents regularly use the trail for walking, bird watching and outdoor enjoyment.

Most recently, residents took on another project—construction of a garden railroad, complete with replicas of historic Redmond buildings. A large number of residents have pitched in on the project, laying track, constructing and painting the model buildings, and maintaining the railroad on an ongoing basis.

The Emerald Heights campus also features a stunning indoor/outdoor pool with retractable roof, a putting green and lawn bowling green.

“Building the garden railroad is a real community effort.
So many people are now enjoying my lifelong hobby.”
