At Emerald Heights, residents share their energy, ideas and creativity as they make this community their home. As a result, the campus has been transformed to reflect their interests.
Perhaps the most ambitious effort spear-headed by residents was the design and construction of the nature trail that winds around the perimeter of the campus. (See history.) Active residents regularly use the trail for walking, bird watching and outdoor enjoyment. (Click here to view the trail on Google maps.)
Most recently, residents took on another project—construction of a garden railroad, complete with replicas of historic Redmond buildings. A large number of residents have pitched in on the project, laying track, constructing and painting the model buildings, and maintaining the railroad on an ongoing basis.
