I can tell it is spring
by: Marilyn Farrell

I can tell it is spring. The birds sing in the morning, even before daylight dawns. The air is warmer, the breezes more kindly. The cherry blossoms floated down like pink snow in the breeze yesterday morning, and the lilacs are just starting to bloom.

I can tell it is spring. There are eight baby ducklings swimming in the pond beside my parking spot. I do a recount every day to see if they all survived the night.

There is evidence of new life and new hope all around. I can tell I feel spring because I am busy planning summer trips and looking forward to some time at the seashore and on the water.

I enjoy each morning with gratitude for the renewed energy to go out with the dog and hear the birds and see the ducklings.

I can tell it is spring.
