Repeatedly recognized among King County's "Best Workplaces for Waste Prevention and Recycling"
Again this year, Emerald Heights has been named as one of King County's “Best Workplaces for Waste Prevention and Recycling for 2012.”
Emerald Heights earned recognition this year for its Green Team, which worked to identify ways to go greener, and these additional accomplishments:
Mailboxes now identify residents who prefer to get their information through email.
Apartments are being updated with energy-efficient bulbs, low-water consumption toilets, low-flow showerheads, and energy-efficient appliances and windows.
Light motion sensors have been installed in all offices.
Water coolers and compostable cups have been installed in the meeting rooms.
Residents are encouraged to purchase reusable to-go containers for their take-out meals and use bio-based chemicals in their kitchen, housekeeping and laundry.
New construction efforts have included the selection of green products where applicable.
Emerald Heights has received the award more than five years in a row and has earned a place on the "Business Honor Roll."
