Recent News:Kirkland Reporter | EvergreenHealth Foundation Receives $120K Donation For Ventilators

The EvergreenHealth Foundation has received a $120,000 donation from Emerald Communities to assist with ventilator costs.

Four ventilators have since been installed in the intensive care unit of the Kirkland’s EvergreenHealth Medical Center. According to a press release, the EvergreenHealth foundation had been contacting community supporters in an effort to raise the funds necessary for the equipment, which has become increasingly needed amid the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic

“We are incredibly grateful for the generosity of the Emerald Communities Board of Directors and their donation to fully cover the cost of the ventilators,” said EvergreenHealth CEO Dr. Jeff Tomlin in a press release. “This gift will expand our capacity of the machines that are necessary to care for patients experiencing respiratory issues in critical COVID-19 cases. I want to express my sincere appreciation for this significant contribution during this challenging time.”

Emerald Communities is known as the sponsor of Washington senior living communities Emerald Heights (Redmond) and Heron’s Key (Gig Harbor). The EvergreenHealth Foundation is a nonprofit organization that works to raise money for Kirkland’s EvergreenHealth Medical Center.

The center is one of the primary hospitals used by Emerald Heights residents.
